The Gauls were a collection of Celtic tribes that inhabited much of Western Europe during the Iron Age, occupying lands that stretched from modern-day France and Belgium into parts of Britain, Germany, and northern Italy. Fiercely independent and bound by tribal loyalties, they were renowned for their courage in battle, charging into combat with spears, swords, and large oval shields, often led by charismatic chieftains and nobles.
