During the Second Punic War, many Iberian tribes fought for both Carthage and Rome, playing a vital role in campaigns led by Hannibal and later the Roman conquest of Hispania. Although some tribes allied with the Romans, many fiercely resisted Roman expansion for generations before eventually being incorporated into the Roman world.
