This year we are expanding upon the ever popular SAGA Grand Melee to include two SAGA Iron Man events alongside the premier SAGA tournament. Our good chums at Big Battles in Cirencester will be hosting the extravaganza.
The Official UK SAGA Grand Melee is a competitive event that draws many outstanding SAGA players, but it is also a fun event and while a decent knowledge of the rules is crucial, people with little to no experience of SAGA tournaments are welcome to attend. The staff and judges at our events are extremely welcoming and keen to share their love of SAGA, so if you've just discovered the system or want to stretch yourself, why not come along?
If you want something less competitive, how about a SAGA Iron Man? For these events, all you need do is turn up - the organiser, the ever amiable Demo Guy Rich, will provide everything you need including figure, dice, rulers etc. The format is that you play three games, each with a different Warband, each against a different opponent. There will be some prizes allocated as Demo Guy's whim dictates but the events are more about learning the ropes and having fun. Demo Guy is excellent at explaining the rules and offering advice to all levels of players.
Also at the Pageant will be Top Chum Pirate Rich. Hopefully you will have seen some of Pirate Rich's paint-along videos on YouTube. Rich will be at the Pageant with his brushes and his video camera, to give a few demos and live stream the event.
